WASCRG RACE MEETING HELD ON SATURDAY 2-12-17

Thanks everyone who turned up for the final race night of the year, we had a great turn out with only a few regular faces missing due to other commitments.

First up was V8 supercars which brought some great heats and some fantastic driving. The mains saw a shake up with Claire Davie taking the first step up to line up with the likes of Nick Cochrane, Matt Boland and Steven Miller. The boys spent too long worrying about each other that Claire snuck through to take the next step up into the B main. Continuing a great drive for the night saw Simon step up to the A main resulting in an equal first for the overall championship. Well done a a great season.

NSR GT stepped up the pace to see the lap times drop into the 6.1 second bracket, congratulations to Nick who took the fastest drive of the night with a sweltering 6.183 seconds. I think some competition might be driving a bit of extra speed, pun intended. Well done to Micky who blew out the cobwebs after some time off and managed to also “do a Bradbury”, I think we all would agree that it was the drive of the night which took Micky all the way to the A main.

This Saturday is the trophy night and final wind up for the year, please dont forget to see Syd if you haven’t got next years racing calendar which will see a new format of one combined season.

Thanks for another great year of racing,

Claire

Thanks again for the write up Claire.Shame you can’t make it to the windup.Looks like we may have another couple of racers joining us next year! I will try and get a calendar out before Xmas or at least a starting date.

Hi All 2018 Calendar has been posted with some ideas down the bottom of the page. All for discussion of course but I cant see it disadvantaging anyone and should add to the fun! Four classes on one night sounds like a big ask but if we are only running half the usual race we should be able to accomplish it! Look forward to hearing your ideas and opinions cheers Syd
